Backend & API Development
Backend services and APIs with clear contracts
APIs, integrations and backend services with clear contracts, validation and documentation.
Overview
Fyznix builds the backend services, APIs and integrations that applications depend on. We start by agreeing what the backend must do: the data it owns, the systems it connects to and the apps and services that will call it. The API contract is defined before the endpoints are built, so frontend and integration work can proceed against a known interface. We validate input and design clear, consistent error handling. Endpoints are built in stages against the agreed contract, with progress reported along the way, and the API is documented as part of the work. Testing covers the behaviour the contract defines.
Outcomes
- An API contract agreed before the endpoints are built
- Input validation and clear, consistent error handling
- Integrations with the third-party services your product needs, confirmed during discovery
- Endpoints built in stages, with progress reported along the way
Approach
Discovery
We agree the data the backend owns, the systems it connects to and the apps and services that will call it.
Architecture
We design the data model and the API contract, and agree them with you before implementation.
Design
We define the request and response formats and how errors are reported to calling apps.
Development
We implement the endpoints and integrations in stages against the agreed contract, validating input and reporting progress as we go.
Testing
We test the contract, the validation and the integrations before each release.
Frequently asked questions
Do you document the API?
Yes. API documentation is part of our backend and API work. It describes the agreed contract: the endpoints, the request and response formats and how errors are reported.
Can you integrate with the third-party services we use?
Usually, yes. During discovery we review each service's API and access requirements, and we confirm what the integration can support before we build it.
